AUSTRALIA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS – INTAKE 2027
Application period: From 01 February 2026 to 30 April 2026
The Office of Science, Technology and International Relations respectfully announces that the Australia Awards Scholarships for the 2027 intake are officially open for applications from 01 February 2026 until 30 April 2026.
General Introduction
The Australia Awards Scholarships are a prestigious international scholarship program funded by the Government of Australia. The program aims to nurture the next generation of global leaders in development fields. Through academic study and research, scholarship recipients will enhance their knowledge and professional skills, thereby contributing to sustainable development and strengthening cooperative relations between Vietnam and Australia.
Target Applicants and Study Program
The scholarships are offered to outstanding Vietnamese citizens to pursue full-time Master’s degree programs in Australia, with the expected commencement in Semester 1 (January) 2027.

Scholarships under the Mekong–Australia Partnership (MAP)
Starting from 2026, the Australia Awards Scholarships will allocate a number of scholarships under the Mekong–Australia Partnership (MAP) for Vietnamese citizens.
MAP Scholarships support applicants from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar to pursue Research Master’s or Coursework Master’s programs in key MAP priority areas, including:

Climate Action

Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI)

Transnational Crime Prevention
-
Economic Resilience
-
Subregional Integration
Applicants may apply for Australia Awards Scholarships and/or MAP Scholarships, as both programs share the same application process and online application portal.
Support and Encouragement Policies

Applicants with disabilities and those from disadvantaged areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Appropriate support mechanisms are provided to ensure equitable access to scholarship opportunities.

Conditionally selected applicants may receive English language training in Vietnam for up to 12 months to meet the admission requirements, including:

IELTS Academic minimum 6.5 (no band below 6.0), or
-
Equivalent TOEFL or PTE Academic scores.
