Signing Ceremony of the MOU and Scientific Report between HCMUNRE and JBP Consultancy Services Asia SDN BHD, Malaysia

On December 8, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) organized a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JBP Consultancy Services Asia SDN BHD, Malaysia.

Attending the signing ceremony from HCMUNRE were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyen – President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Nghiem – Vice President; Dr. Huynh Thien Tai – Head of Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations; and Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa – Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations. Representatives from academic and professional units included: Dr. Thiem Quoc Tuan – Dean of the Faculty of Faculty of Geology and Mineral Resources; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lu Phuong – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Environment; Dr. Nguyen Huy Cuong – Head of the Water Supply and Sewerage Division, together with faculty members Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Ha, Dr. Tran Vinh Thien, Dr. Do Duc Thien, MSc. The signing of the MOU between HCMUNRE and JBP Consultancy Services Asia SDN BHD is not only an important external relations activity but also marks a solid beginning, opening opportunities for long-term and comprehensive cooperation between the two sides in the future. During the event, the two parties also discussed trenchless technologies and methods for rehabilitating and repairing water supply and sewer pipelines—an advanced solution that helps save time, minimize environmental impact, and improve construction efficiency. These discussions promise to contribute to the development of modern and sustainable solutions for the water supply and environmental protection sector.

Through this MOU, both parties agreed to strengthen academic exchange, jointly implement training programs, scientific research, and technology transfer in the fields of natural resources and environment, especially trenchless technologies—an advanced approach for pipeline rehabilitation and repair. This method plays a significant role in minimizing environmental impacts while optimizing cost and construction time for urban infrastructure projects.

The signing also reflects the University’s strong commitment to international integration, aligning with its strategic goal of becoming a reputable educational and research institution in the region and beyond.

The MOU signing ceremony between Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment and JBP Consultancy Services Asia SDN BHD not only carried ceremonial significance but also underscored the strategic importance of building a long-term, effective partnership between the two organizations.
