Signing Ceremony of the MOU between HCMUNRE and Fashion Garment 2 Co., Ltd., under the Parent Corporation in Sri Lanka

On May 09, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) organized the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Fashion Garment 2 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary under the parent corporation headquartered in Sri Lanka.

In attendance at the signing ceremony, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE), were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyen – Rector; Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa – Deputy Head, Office of Science, Technology and International Relations; Assoc. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) and Fashion Garment 2 Co., Ltd., under the parent corporation in Sri Lanka, marks an important milestone in establishing a comprehensive and sustainable partnership between the two parties. Within the framework of cooperation, both sides place particular emphasis on key areas such as recycling technologies and waste management, aiming to apply advanced solutions for waste treatment and recycling to minimize negative environmental impacts. In addition, human resource development is prioritized through the enhancement of training programs on green production and sustainable management to meet the rising demands of the industry. The collaboration also focuses on the application of renewable energy and effective water treatment solutions to promote cleaner production and optimize water resource management. Simultaneously, both parties commit to strengthening community engagement and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities by supporting initiatives that bring tangible benefits to society and the environment. Furthermore, scientific research cooperation and innovation are encouraged through promoting research initiatives, supporting start-ups, and providing scholarships for students, thereby building a solid foundation for sustainable and modern development for both sides in the future.

Through the memorandum of understanding, both parties commit to coordinating the implementation of several joint activities to strengthen cooperation in the fields of natural resources and environmental management. Specifically, these activities will include expert and student exchanges for training programs, scientific research, and practical applications. The two sides will also jointly organize conferences and thematic workshops on sustainable development and environmental protection to enhance knowledge and experience sharing. In addition, pilot implementation of advanced technological solutions, such as renewable energy and water treatment systems at production facilities, will be prioritized. Both parties will likewise support students in accessing scholarship programs and internship opportunities to enhance practical skills. These activities collectively contribute to building a long-term, sustainable, and effective partnership between the two institutions.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment and Fashion Garment 2 Co., Ltd. is not merely a formal event but also demonstrates the strategic commitment of both parties to building a sustainable, comprehensive, and effective cooperative relationship. This event marks a significant beginning, opening up numerous opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, education, technological development, and practical applications, contributing to the shared development of both organizations in the future.
