On September 8, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) organized a formal welcoming and working session with Kanehira Noodles Joint Stock Company, Japan.

The session aimed to establish a cooperative framework for student training and practical experience through the Summer Internship Program. Delegates from HCMUNRE included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyen – President of the University; Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa and Dr. Tran Thanh Tam – Deputy Heads of the Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations; Dr. Vo Thi Tuyet Mai – Deputy Head of Department of Academic Affairs; and Mr. Nguyen Ba Khoa – Head of Department of Student Affairs

Representatives from Kanehira Noodles Joint Stock Company included Mr. Kanehira Yoshiaki – Manager of Iwate Branch; Mr. Kanehira Akiyuki – Deputy Manager of Iwate Branch; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan – staff member of the company. In addition, Mr. Do Chi Thinh – Rector of the Food Industry College, attended the session as a representative of partner institutions.

The session was conducted in a collaborative and open exchange atmosphere, focusing on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and establishing an effective cooperation mechanism to facilitate HCMUNRE students’ access to and experience of the Japanese working environment. The Summer Internship Program is designed to last no longer than three months, primarily during student breaks, such as the summer vacation period.
The program aims to provide students with simultaneous learning and practical experience opportunities, enhance professional knowledge and career skills, and prepare them with essential resources for future career development. Selected interns will be HCMUNRE students who meet both the university’s criteria and the requirements of Kanehira Noodles Company. Before starting the internship, HCMUNRE will prepare students with an overview of the company’s working environment, including its business operations, organizational structure, partner relationships, confidentiality requirements, and workplace guidelines, ensuring students can integrate effectively and perform professionally.
Kanehira Noodles Company will provide detailed guidance regarding assigned tasks, training methods, supervision, and evaluation of internship performance, while coordinating with HCMUNRE in all related matters. Health, illness, and occupational accident issues will be managed according to National Health Insurance and Occupational Accident Insurance regulations to ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of participating students.
During the session, both parties also discussed the next steps for effective program implementation, including the official signing of the MOU, student recruitment procedures, preparation of the student list, and development of a comprehensive internship plan. The session concluded successfully, with mutual agreement on the cooperation content and a shared commitment to maintain close coordination, ensuring that the Summer Internship Program is implemented efficiently, with quality, and tangible benefits for students.

In conclusion, the working session between HCMUNRE and Kanehira Noodles Joint Stock Company not only marked an important step in launching the Summer Internship Program but also opened avenues for long-term collaboration in training, human resource development, and cultural-educational exchange. The program is expected to provide students with valuable practical experience, enhance their professional competencies, and strengthen international cooperation between HCMUNRE and Japanese enterprises. Both parties committed to ongoing coordination, supervision, and evaluation to achieve the program’s objectives, ensuring practical benefits for students and the sustainable development of the partnership.
