The MOU Signing Ceremony and Scientific Report between HCMUNRE and Southern College of Technology and Agro-Forestry

On June 16, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with the Southern College of Technology and Agro-Forestry.

Attending the signing ceremony on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Xuan Cuong – Party Committee Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyen – President of HCMUNRE; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Nghiem – Vice Presidetn of HCMUNRE; Dr. Huynh Thien Tai – Deputy Head in charge of the Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations; Dr. Tran Thanh Tam – Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations; Dr. Le Thi Kim Thoa – Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology Management and External Relations; Dr. Vo Thi Tuyet Mai – Deputy Head of the Academic Affairs Office; Ms. Le Thi Phung – Head of the Department of Testing and Quality Assurance; Mr. Tran Van Son – Head of the Department of Personnel Organization and Administration; and Mr. Nguyen Trong Khanh – Director of the Center for Continuing Education, along with several other staff and lecturers from the University.

 Attending the working session on behalf of the Southern College of Technology and Agro-Forestry were Mr. Tran Van Thang – Party Committee Secretary, Rector; Ms. Bui Thi Hoa Phuong – Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Vice Rector; Mr. Nguyen Duy Diep – Head of the Academic Affairs Office; Ms. Dang Thi My Hanh – Head of the Administrative and Organizational Office; Ms. Phung Thi Minh Tam – Head of the Information Technology Department, Chairwoman of the College Trade Union; and Mr. Tran Van Hao – Director of Campus 2, Vice Chairman of the College Trade Union.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) and the Southern College of Technology and Agro-Forestry marks an important milestone in establishing a comprehensive and sustainable partnership between the two educational institutions. This agreement not only aims to develop joint training and research activities but also seeks to strengthen the connection between the two parties, laying a solid foundation for the practical application of science and technology.

The key areas of cooperation include: developing training programs tailored to practical needs; organizing internships and career orientation activities to enhance students’ professional skills; promoting the exchange of expertise and improving the capacity of faculty members, staff, and lecturers; jointly implementing scientific research projects to foster innovation and improve research quality; coordinating to organize workshops, scientific events, and communication activities to strengthen community engagement and promote the dissemination of knowledge; as well as sharing human and physical resources to maximize operational efficiency.

Through these collaborative activities, both parties aim to enhance training quality, develop a highly skilled workforce, promote the application of scientific and technological advances, and effectively meet the requirements of sustainable development in the fields of natural resources, environment, and other related sectors in the context of deepening international integration.

Through this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the two parties have agreed to strengthen cooperation across various fields, with a primary focus on sharing faculty members and facilities to support training activities. They will collaborate in the development and implementation of academic programs ranging from intermediate to undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Additionally, both sides will jointly provide consultation, introduction, and organization of training programs that align with practical needs and the development orientations of each institution.

The cooperation also includes the organization of professional development courses and training for professional titles in fields such as agriculture, natural resources, environment, and other relevant sectors. Student exchange between the two institutions is also a key aspect, aiming to facilitate study, internship, and research opportunities at each partner institution.

This partnership not only paves the way for mutual development in academics and training but also contributes to improving the quality of human resources and research capacity. It supports the goal of sustainable development in the context of educational reform and deep international integration.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment and the Southern College of Technology and Agro-Forestry was not only a formal and solemn event, but also marked the beginning of a strategic, comprehensive, and sustainable partnership between the two institutions.

This cooperation agreement opens up great potential in connecting academic training with practical application, particularly in expanding career opportunities for students through market-oriented training programs, internships, and the transfer of knowledge and professional skills. It contributes to improving the quality of human resources and meeting the demands of sustainable development in society.
