On May 28th, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) held an official working session with SGROUP Real Estate Co., Ltd. to engage in strategic discussions regarding potential collaboration in education, student support, and human resource development. This meeting served not only as a platform for both parties to gain a comprehensive understanding of each other’s developmental orientations, strengths, and needs, but also marked a pivotal step towards establishing a long-term, substantive, and mutually beneficial partnership between academia and industry.

Discussion on Collaborative Framework
During the session, SGROUP representatives presented their strategic vision for the development of a highly qualified workforce to meet the demands of the real estate sector in the context of rapid digital transformation. SGROUP expressed strong appreciation for HCMUNRE’s academic capabilities and practical orientation in training programs. The company expressed its desire to establish a sustainable, collaborative relationship that brings mutual benefits and contributes meaningfully to educational and industry advancement.
Following constructive and transparent dialogue, both sides reached a consensus on a range of collaborative initiatives with long-term implications, including:
- Scholarship sponsorship for students with disadvantaged backgrounds and outstanding academic performance, fostering academic motivation and personal development.
- Organization of career orientation activities, including talk shows, seminars, and competitions in the real estate sector, to equip students with insights into career paths and market trends.
- Internship and practicum opportunities at SGROUP and its partner entities, along with expanded post-graduation employment pathways.
- Joint participation in research, innovation, and academic development, including startup initiatives, scientific competitions, and thematic events.
- Establishment of an industry-academic network, initiated by HCMUNRE and facilitated by SGROUP, to promote comprehensive cooperation in training, recruitment, curriculum development, and enterprise engagement.
Commitment and Strategic Vision
In his address, Mr. Tran Huu Duc, General Director of SGROUP, emphasized the company’s commitment not only as a strategic partner but also as a companion in shaping students’ career paths and professional development. He stated: “Investing in today’s students is an investment in the future sustainability of our enterprise and society.”
On behalf of HCMUNRE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Nghiem, Vice Rector, welcomed the proposed areas of collaboration and affirmed the university’s dedication to proactive and effective cooperation. He emphasized HCMUNRE’s readiness to work closely with SGROUP to implement the agreed initiatives in a timely and impactful manner, aligned with shared goals.
The session concluded in an atmosphere of consensus and mutual respect. Both parties agreed to proceed toward the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future, which will serve as a legal and strategic framework for implementing specific joint programs aligned with each side’s development priorities and the evolving demands of the digital economy.

Prospects for the Future
The strategic cooperation between HCMUNRE and SGROUP Real Estate Co., Ltd. is anticipated to create new opportunities for enhancing training quality, strengthening academia-industry linkages, and enriching student experiences. Ultimately, this partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the sustainable growth of the real estate sector and broader societal development.
